Today My Baby Turns 22
Today My Baby Turns 22 that’s right. Wow time really does fly.
Today my baby turns 22 and is now a man, no longer in need of mommy. That’s right babies grow. But where did the time go? Seems like only yesterday I was up in the night feeding him every two hours, a mere 7lbs. 2oz. fitting snuggly in my arm he is now 6’4” towers over me and wakes with a five o’clock shadow. How is it I still see him as my little baby? Happily wishing him the best birthday and a long happy, healthy life full of success I am a bit sad for my own selfish reasons. I am wondering if I am all I thought I would be at this time in my life. Although Ken has grown into a young man with a big heart, high integrity, dependable, honest and loyal to a near fault, as well as extremely hardworking, today I am left wondering if worse than the reality that I still have so much to accomplish in my own life, if I have been a good mother. I think it is natural to wonder but I question if I should have had more patience, if I was too hard on him, if I should have given him more of my time when he could’ve used it. Did I provide the right amount of emotional and financial support? You know you are old when … I am looking back and I wish not only that I had spoiled him more and taken him on more vacations but that I had soaked in every single second of his life instead of cleaning the house and working all the hours I could.
Dear Ken,
I know you didn’t have everything you could ever ask for growing up but I did the very best I could right or wrong. As you venture off into the world on your own I hope you know that your entire life and the bright future ahead of you are now all yours for the taking. Don’t be afraid to take chances. You can do, become and conquer anything you put your strong willed mind to. Always stand up for yourself, keep the feelings of others in mind but do not allow others to put limitations on you as you move toward your dreams and successes. Remember that any failure you may face is a chance to learn and for every door that closes a better one will open believe it. The respect and admiration I have for you today I always will. Wherever you go and whatever you do may the warmth of the love I have had for you since birth surround you. I couldn’t be happier for you or more proud of the man you have become. I cherish the memories we’ve built and I look forward to our future together not only as mother and son but as friends. I love you Ken Happy Birthday!
Love always,
Mom xo

One minute of pure motivation. If you think you can’t think again.
We think you will love it as much as we did.

Stop American Censorship
Help stop American Censorship
“The potential for abuse of power through digital networks – upon which we as citizens now depend for nearly everything, including our politics – is one of the most insidious threats to democracy in the Internet age … This is no time for politicians and industry lobbyists in Washington to be devising new Internet censorship mechanisms, adding new opportunities for abuse of corporate and government power over online speech.”
- Rebecca MacKinnon (New York Times)
Insecurity Quotes #1
Insecurity is just something that’s there all the time. I’ve never been crippled by it.

Happiness Is A Choice
Travel Around Australia
Travel Around Australia…and catching up with the Wood family.
It’s good to know what we are doing, and where are going to be. But at the same time I so wished that we were heading out of here today! I feel like we are stuck in “Ground Hog Day” – have you seen that movie? Travel Around Australia is all the I have wanted to do since early last year! Have you got a Passion for Adventure? Not sure where I have gotten my passion for adventure, and my desire to Travel around Australia! Maybe I got it from my late Grandma…..she used to tell me the most amazing stories when I was growing up…about where she had been, what she had seen. Mind you her Adventures were from reading books. We are so grateful that we are living in our Motorhome, and that we will be traveling Australia. But at the same time, we are staying in one place for the moment due to family reasons. Have you ever traveled as a backpacker? Recently I got to stay in a Backpackers hotel in Melbourne. It was so much fun, to stay at backpackers, and meet so many wonderful people who were traveling Australia. Some of them were from overseas, some of them from Australia. I got to experience a bit of Melbourne, and a bit of what life is like for those that live out of a Bag. I never had a desire to travel when I was younger. I never had the desire to go backpacking after finishing year 12 in High school. Now I have that desire. I so wished we could travel. I so wished that we could travel around Australia, and see the many different places…..without having to worry about accommodation! Doesn’t make sense – I know that I love our Motorhome. I know that I love our new life. But yet I have a desire to travel…with a backpack? What is that all about!! I never ever liked camping. I have tried camping – on so many different occasions and I never ever enjoyed the experience. So why do I feel like I could do backpacking? Why do I feel like I could Travel Australia as a backpacker? Maybe because I never had the desire to travel when I was younger, I now have the desire to travel any which I can!! How you ever had this desire to Travel Around Australia? Maybe you are already traveling? Would love to hear what you think about Traveling in a Motorhome, or traveling as a backpacker! Have you made many mistakes in life? Well guess what.. you’ve actually gained wisdom from those past mistakes! Forgive yourself….stop reminding yourself of everything you do wrong….then Move Forward! Always move forward after your perceived failure…you’ll actually start brushing off the negative and DOING the positive instead. I’m an entrepreneur who practices this daily. Sisterhood Quotes Part 1
Sisterhood Quotes – Part 1
At the beginning of October we asked you how you felt about the power of sisterhood. We were so moved we simply had to share your inspiration. Sisterhood Quotes part 2 and 3 are on the way. (If your contribution is not mentioned below please check back next week for Part 2).
Here’s what some of you had to say:
Can’t Imagine Life Without It! Literally. And I’m so aware that not all women have a tribe of other amazing women in their lives, which makes me even more grateful. Imagining not having my girls feels like it would be just me, alone & adrift on a raft, in the middle of the ocean. No thank you! Bring on the posse!!!
This planet turns on the strength of the woman! In every era of time, in every pivotal historic moment, . . . there was a woman! From a woman’s womb came every great man! From the first transactions of man to the very last there is always present a woman! The power that a woman wields is beyond the power she is able to understand! Her worth is held in high hands, Heaven’s hands, safe hands! Heaven records a Father’s love for harlots and heroins alike! We women may be the last to recognize the value in each other, but there’s plenty of time for us to make up for lost time! Love the SisTeRHoOD TodaY!!!
The power of Sisterhood is amazing! Recently I had a breast cancer scare, thank God I didn’t have cancer but I met & talked to some amazing fantastic women who have survived cancer. Talk about Sisterhood! These women who were perfect strangers were offering to help me through it if I had cancer. I think I was suppose to go through that experience to first of all appreciate life more and to help get the word out about early breast cancer detection to others and to see how strong Sisterhood is in good times & in the very bad times. We are strong we are invincible and we are not alone. One for all & all for one…
